​Life is full of choices. Like trees we have different "roots" that surround us. They cross over and interlink with other people's lives -- they are never a straight road. A straight road would suggest there is only one way and that your path cannot be changed, whereas roots change and they grow, and with growth comes the power to change your future. For some people this is harder to do as your emotional state of mind effects the decisions you make and the paths you take. Human habit acts upon emotions. You could be in exactly the same situation as another individual and come out with a completely different story because you have been bought up differently, experienced different things and not had the same support around you.
My film art is inspired from the Banardo's adverts. A children's/young person's charity that helps them claim back their future. The film is a mixture of stories of people at their lowest that need help. It becomes a vicious circle for a lot of young people that cannot find a way out of their situation. Each person is wearing a top labelled "trapped in your own emotions" and "self-inflicted victim".
